By | January 28, 2025

Winter just got a whole lot better for Canadian visitors heading to Florida. Brightline and Porter Airlines have teamed up, offering an exclusive deal that makes exploring the Sunshine State more convenient. Porter passengers can now get 50% off adult SMART fares on select Brightline trains, connecting key cities in Central and South Florida.

Effortless Travel Across Florida’s Major Cities

As December rolls in, Florida becomes a favorite escape for Canadians looking to trade snow for sunshine. Brightline’s high-speed rail service links popular destinations like Orlando, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach, giving travelers an easy way to move across the state. According to Travis Christ, Brightline’s Chief Commercial Officer, this partnership creates a seamless experience for snowbirds and tourists heading south this season.

Porter Airlines is also stepping up to meet the growing demand for Florida travel. With up to 126 weekly flights from Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Halifax, Porter connects Canadian travelers to four major Florida cities—all of which feature Brightline stations. Edmond Eldebs, Porter Airlines’ Senior Vice President, sees this collaboration as a game-changer, allowing visitors to easily explore multiple regions of Florida by combining flights and rail.

Connecting Orlando and Beyond with Brightline’s Expanded Service

Brightline’s recent expansion to Orlando has opened up even more possibilities. Known for its quick and reliable service, Brightline connects Orlando’s world-famous attractions to vibrant South Florida hubs like Miami and Fort Lauderdale. With stations in downtown areas, travelers have easy access to major cruise ports, including Port Miami and Port Everglades. For those sailing out of Port Canaveral, connecting via Orlando International Airport is a breeze.

Florida has long been a top destination for Canadians, and this new initiative makes the journey smoother than ever. Dana Young, President and CEO of VISIT FLORIDA, highlights how the combination of air travel and Brightline’s rail service provides unparalleled convenience for visitors exploring the state.

To make things even easier, Brightline has doubled its Airport Connector Shuttle service. Travelers flying into Miami or Fort Lauderdale airports can catch shuttles running every 15 minutes to and from Brightline stations. With affordable pricing—$10 for the first rider and just $5 for additional passengers in the same group—this service adds another layer of flexibility for travelers.
